Mint Green Dress

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Last night Vaughan and I went to see fireworks in the Meherrin, Virginia with our family. It really was such a spectacular show. 

Before we went out we did a lot of work organizing our pantry, tiki bar and kitchen area yesterday.  We are still not done with the organizing project. Hoprfully it will all be done by the end of next week.

The mint green button-down dress I'm wearing is one that I found for about 49 cents from Ross. There was no damage to the dress or anything like that. I can't believe they actually sell clothing for that little.

 I decided to wear the floral hat that my mother gave me and the platform heels that I purchased from good willThe tie scarf thing that I'm wearing around my neck was $1 on sale from Walmart last year. I thought this outfit was the perfect Spring look.

 

Pink Plaid Dress and Dress Like Me Feature!

Now let's get to today's outfit!
I found this pink plaid dress at a thrift store in California several years ago. If I remember correctly I paid only $1 for it.  The bright pink is perfect for summer time.  I also like that there is a bit of a retro style to the dress. The gorgeous pink heels that I am wearing match very well. I purchased the heels for around $4 from goodwill.  

Cactus Print Blouse

I decided to go with a Western theme for today's outfit of the day. This pink and green cactus print blouse is an item that I purchased from Amazon. I still have a fondness for all things Southwestern, especially the Seguaro cactus. When I see a print like this, it reminds me of my travels to the American Southwest.

I decided to wear the blouse with this denim skirt that I have had for years. The skirt is a thrift store item, as is the blue leather belt that I am wearing. Love that the belt is also a Southwestern themed belt. 

The shoes are a pair that I bought from a thrift store a year or so ago; they are very comfortable to wear, and they go with a lot of different things because of their neutral color. 

I decided to do something a little different with my hair today, too. I braided it and then pinned it up on each side.  

For jewelry, I just decided to wear a pair of simple beaded earrings.

The size is also great for when I want to carry a little more.  I thought the bag when great with my neutral outfit of the day, and I am looking forward to seeing what else I can style it with in the future.

Green Print Sleeveless Blouse

The heels I am wearing were new, at Goodwill.  They are so tall!  They have gold lion heads on the front of the ankle; that is the detail that sold me on the shoes!

 The green prit top is also a thrift store purchase.  The belt is one I bought on sale last year from Roses.

Today, we started moving things back into the foyer.  It looks so much better now!  I think the white floor is going to be very hard to keep clean, but I do love the look!

Blue Print Blouse

Happy Monday!

The week has started off very hot here in southern Virginia.   It does not look like that is going to change anytime soon, either. 

I am wearing as blue print blouse I thrifted years ago.  The stretchy black skirt is a great basic I have worn more times than I can remember.  The layered coin necklace is one I bought a few weeks ago from Walmart for just one dollar.  It is a mix of gold chains, and silver coins.

Blue Retro Style Print Dress

This dress is one I bought in California for a dollar.  It reminds me of dresses from the 1940's.  I decided to add red accessories to go with a patriotic and nautical look, as well.  My huge pearl necklace is one I bought from Roses.  It is so over-the-top!  I love it!

I am wearing one of my new pearl hair pin from Aliexpress, as well.  I have bought several pearl hair accessories from there this year, and I really like them all.

Corduroy Culottes

I bought these culottes during a $5 bag sale at Goodwill, so they would have been about 25 cents.  I love thrifting because I get to try out odd items like these pants!  It is a lot of fun to take something like these, and try to style then in what I think is a cool, attractive way.

The beret is from Aliexpress, where I buy almost all of my berets.  The blouse is from another thrift store, and so is the belt, shoes and necklace.  

I was so happy with the light in these photos, and the whole look.  I was a tiny bit upset to see I had forgotten to remove the black velvet scrunchie from my wrist!  Also, my necklace is a little askew in a few of the photos.  But, I am still so happy with how the outfit turned out!  I actually love it!

All Red Outfit: Red Blouse and Skirt

Happy weekend!  It has been a very busy week in our family.  It seems like we have been going non-stop.  June has been a busy month, altogether.  

Today, we were finally home long enough to put down the second coat of white paint in our foyer.  That's it!  Now we just need to wait for it to dry, and then I can finally start decorating and putting everything back in the room.  Right now, the rest of the house is a mess because everything from the foyer was placed in rooms on the bottom floor.

I love the bottom detail on this red skirt.  I found the skirt for less than two dollars at Bliss thrift store.

 I am not sure where I got the blouse, but I know it was also thrifted, and I have had it for several years.

I really like the "red-to-two" look.  I would like to try this again with a pair of red pants I have. 

Shein Graphic Print One Piece Swimsuit

The summer print of this one-piece Shein swimsuit is just too fun! I can't belive how well this swimsuit is made, and for the price of just $13!  The print has flowers, watermelons, and my favorite...palm trees!  I have a lot of swimsuits, but this one is different from anything else I already own!

 

 The shoulders have ties, so they are adjustable.  The bust has removable pads.

I am wearing a size medium.  The fit is pretty much perfect, though I think a small may have been an even better fit in the bust area.

I am very happy with the size and quality of this Popjulia shoulder bag.  The bag comes in green, black and burgundy as well.  I love the brown because I think it really works for all year around. I also realyl like the shape.  I don't think I have had a bag shaped like it, before.  The size is also perfect to hold everything I need: my compact, smart phone, lipstick, wallet, etc.  There is a small pocket on the inside of the bag that can hold money or cards.  The rest is one open compartment.   There is also a zipper at the top of the bag, under the flap.

The shoulder strap is removable, making this bag really versatile. I prefer to wear it cross-body, myself.   It is so comfortable to wear, too!  The strap is smooth, and doesn't dig into my shoulder.

Blue and White Vintage Maxi Dress

I found this dress at Grace thrift store in Lancaster, California for only one dollar.  Something about it reminds me of the fashion from the early 1800's.   I think it is actually from the 1960's or 1970's. 

I decided to wear one of my short wigs for this look.  Vaughan said I looked like Snow White!

Today, I went thrift shopping with my parents while Vaughan took a short class on genealogy.   I will be haing more thrift haul videso coming soon to my Youtube channel!  I found three items for Christmas, and they were all two dollar or less.

Shein Tiered Ruffle Sleeve Off Shoulder Pencil Dress

This dress by Shein is such a classic, sophisticated look.  This is the perfect example of a dress I would take with me when I travel, as it is perfect for so many occasions.   My favorite feature are the fabulous sleeves!  

The fabric is thick, and feels like it will last very well.  The sleeves are made from a pretty, sheer fabric.  I am wearing size large in the dress, and I am happy with the fit.  The fabric stretches, so it is comfortable.  I just slipped it on from the bottom.

I love that I can change up the look with this dress by wearing different belts, jewelry, and hats.  It is also a good choice to wear all year around.  This dress is one I will be keeping in my wardrobe forever.

Shein Neon Green Triangle Bikini

I LOVE this bikini, especially the top, and the color!  It also comes in three other colors.  I am wearing a large, and the fit is very good.  I love the floral appliques on the bust of the top.  I am very happy with the quality of this suit, too.  A string, triangle bikini is my favorite style, the only thing I would change about this suit it to make the bottoms string, too. 

It was a warm and beautiful day here in Virginia, so it was a great opportunity to wear my new suit outside!  Hopefully I will get the chance to wear this at the beach, soon!

I am looking forward to wearing this suit this summer, and also wearing the top with different bottoms!  At only $13, this suit is such a great deal!  I want it in each color!

Black Floral Print Blouse

Vaughan and I spent the day painting our foyer.  We are going to need to put down another coat on the floor in a day or so.  I am so excited!  I love the idea of all white floors and walls because I can see anything that is on them.  Since we have had a few huge spiders in the house before, that is very important for me!  With a white floor, there really is little place to hide for a creature that it can't be seen.

I think it is going to look so great when it's done!  The only thing is, I am wondering just how dirty a white floor will get and stay...

I am hoping to have a busy weekend painting our foyer.  We finally bought the rest of the paint for the walls and floor.  I will be so happy to have it completed!  Keep a watch out for my before and after video once I have the foyer painted and re-decorated!
