Super Sponge Review

For today's post I'm reviewing something a little different than my usual fashion items.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Super Sponge.

I also have my video review linked below.
I normally just use my fingers for applying foundation so I was interested to see what this silicone infused a sponge would be like for the application process.

The super sponge is supposed to use 50% less foundation which was a really big positive for me because the loss of product is one reason why I like to use my fingers, as I feel like it's less likely to absorb into the brush or sponge that way.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the coverage and I do believe that it gave me more they flawless look so I may indeed start using a super sponge and my make up routine!

Orogold Beauty Review

Christmas may be over, but that doesn't mean it's not a good time to check out more great gift ideas.  Valentine's Day will be here before you know it, so I am sharing my short reviews of these Orogold cosmetic products.  These make great gifts for him, or her!

This Orogold Cosmetic Toner comes in one of the brand's white boxes with golden trim.  It weighs approximately 11 ounces, and the box measures approximately 8 7/8 inches tall, by 3 inches wide, by 2 inches deep.  Inside the box are 3.38 fluid ounces of toner in a clear, cyclindrical, spray bottle, with a white, plastic bottom and cap.
As with all of the other Orogold products I have tried, the packaging is very attractive.  The product itself works well for me, too.  This is the current toner I am using.

This Orogold Cosmetic Cleanser comes in one of the brand's white boxes with golden trim.  It weighs approximately 10 ounces, and the box measures approximately 8 7/8 inches tall, by 3 inches wide, by 2 inches deep - indistinguishable from OroGold's box of Toner, except for the gold labeling.  Inside the box are 3.53 ounces of cleanser in a clear, cyclindrical, squirt bottle, with a white, plastic bottom and cap.  It looks cloudy white, like a shampoo or conditioner.
They both seem to dissipate quickly, and to moisturize the skin they're rubbed into.  I am usually not a fan of facial cleansers, but I really liked this one.

This Orogold Cosmetic Body Scrub comes in one of the brand's white boxes with golden trim.  It weighs approximately 15 ounces, and the box measures approximately 3 1/4 inches tall, by 4 inches wide, by 4 inches deep.  Inside the box are 3.53 ounces of grainy white scrub in a clear, spherical jar, with a gold colored cap, which completes the top portion of the sphere.  The jar comes sealed with a circular sheet of tinfoil.  The jar itself is so beautiful, making it perfect to leave in display in my bathroom.
This scrub seems like a moisturizing cream with granulated sugar mixed into it.  It quickly dissipates, leaving a clear, oily shine, and translucent white granules.

Nu Natural Beauty Products Review

For today's post, I am reviewing some items from Nu Natural Beauty.

Nu Natural Beauty Products Review

This Mint Chocolate Lip Polish by Nu Natural beauty products comes in a one-ounce (net weight) glass jar approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and 1 1/2 inches tall.  It consists of a sweet-smelling, jade-colored, crumbly goop, similar to home-made Play-Doh.  It's intended to exfoliate your lips, but my husband found it so spellbinding that, after scrubbing his lips with it, he scrubbed his entire face with it.  He decided that that was mistake, since it made his face feel greasy, but we both like the way it makes our lips feel, like a chocolatey, minty version of Chapstick!

Soap by Nu Natural beauty products appears to be a clear, oval-shaped, glycerin soap. It has a pleasant aroma, and creates a white, foamy lather.  It's one of my favorite kinds of soaps!

This Essential Oil Starter Set by Nu Natural beauty products includes four glass, 15 milliliter bottles of oils:  lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), steam distilled, from France; lemon (Citrus limon), expellor pressed, from Italy;  tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), steam distilled, from Australia; and peppermint (Mentha piperita), steam distilled, from the U.S.A., which is one of my husband's favorite scents.

This set includes a sample vial of Tranquility Oil attached to a business card with information about it.  It also includes an eight-page instruction manual, printed, in color, on one side of an 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of paper; and a flyer for each of the four oils.  This is an ideal kit for the essential oil novice!

DISCLAIMER:  For external use only! Consult with a professional before any use other than aromatherapy!  Use it with a diffuser for aromatherapy.  Mix it with a carrier oil before applying it to the skin.

Orogold Cosmetics Beauty Products Review

This Orogold Cosmetic gift set for women comes in a white box with golden trim - ideal for gift giving this holiday season.  Everything about the set, including the box just feels like luxury.  The scent of the items is especially nice.

This kit contains three items:  "Foaming Cleanser," "24K Deep Day Moisturizer," and a "Salt Souffle."  I'm not sure what twenty-four karat gold or soufles have to do with these products; they don't actually contain gold or eggs.  Also, the name "Orogold" is redundant; "oro" is Spanish for "gold."

However, these products do look luxurious on my vanity - pearly white, trimmed with gold.

The Foaming Cleanser unfortunately is my least favorite item, as it did not really seem to foam for me. I use moisturizer religiously, especially in the winter when my skin becomes particularly dry.  I've tried innumerable moisturizers.  This moisturizer is among the best.
The salt souffle is an exfoliant completes this set.

Next up, we have the Orogold "White Gold 24K Hand and Body Cream" comes in a tube instead of a jar, but doesn't seem to be significantly different than any of Orogold's other creams.  I love using this on my hands, especially.  The tube is small enough to take in my bag for daily use.

Finally we have the Orogold White Gold Deep Face Moisurizer is not the same as Orogold's "24K Deep Day Moisturizer," as this is for the face.  The scent is fantastic!
This moisturizer comes in a spherical jar the approximate size of a tennis ball.  It looks like a gigantic, gold-trimmed pearl on my vanity.
I use it regularly.  It would also make a great gift.

Gliss Oil Nutritive Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I have been using this new Gliss Hair Repair Oil Nutritive shampoo and conditioner for about two months now.  My hair is looking great, even on humid days.  Now that the weather is cooling, the humidity is dropping, and it's looking even better.

The Oil Nutritive shampoo and conditioner both have great scents, and work well with my frizz prone hair.  A little conditioner is all I need, compared to some other brands.

I am glad to have discovered Gliss.  I started using Gliss earlier this year.  You can read about my first review in this blog post.

Have you ever tried any of the Schwarzkopf Gliss products?  Let me know in the comments below!

Swissvita US Eye Cream Review

Swissvita is a skin care company that has been around since 2007.  According to the Swissvita website, the company was formed "between two skin care labs who successfully combined the essence of European beauty with technological innovations of Asia".
Swissvita has a 100% Money Back Guarantee if you are not happy with any of their products!

Swissvita products use the plant-based extract AC-11®.  The plant is Uncaria tomentosa, which is found in the Amazon.  You can read much more about this extract on the Swissvita botanics page.

I have been using this Swissvita Eye Cream for a few weeks, now.  The main thing I have noticed while using it, is that it seems to help with my dark circles and puffiness.  That is pretty big for me, and I am happy with the results!

Schwarzkopf Gliss Shampoo and Conditioner

I have been trying out Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo and Conditioner for a little over a month now.  It's always so humid here in Virginia in the summer, so it's important to have a good conditioner, especially.

Gliss has helped to keep the frizz away, and my hair soft and feeling great!
The conditioner is lighter weight than some I have used in the past, so I think this would be especially great for those with hair that is less frizz prone to begin with, though it still works for me.

Bioderma Review

For today's post, I am reviewing several products from the Bioderma skincare line. All of these products are available for purchase here in the U.S. at Beautylish.com

Hydrabio Serum

Bioderma Hydrabio Serum is a moisturizing concentrate for very dehydrated, sensitive skin.  This is my favorite of all the products I tried from Bioderma, and my favorite facial moisturiser, ever!  The one thing I use most is moisturiser, and this one worked great!  My skin was recently getting dry and uncomfortable, and, after using this moisturizer a few days, is completely turned around.  A small amount is all you need for your entire face, so even though the item can be a bit pricey, it will last a long time.

Sebium Mat Control
Bioderma Mat Control is a shine-control moisturiser for combination/oily sensitive skin.  This moisturiser has my favorite scent of all; it's so fresh and reminds me of summer!  My favorite thing about all of the moisturisers is they are all lightweight and comfortable on the skin.  I really hate to wear moisturisers that leave my skin feeling greasy, oily, and sticky.

Sensibio Eye

Bioderma Sensibio Eye is a contour gel for sensitive, intolerant skin.  This product doesn't seem to have any fragrance.  It's a nice, light moisturiser, and feels great to use around the eyes.

Sensibio H2O

Bioderma Sensibio H2O is a make-up removing micelle solution for sensitive skin.  I found that this product works best for removing my foundation, but it takes a little more effort to remove my gel eyeliner.  I don't notice any scent, which is probably a good thing for a product that is made to use so close to the eyes!

Hydrabio H2O

Bioderma Hydrabio H2O is a moisturising, make-up removing micelle solution.  This makeup remover seems to have a light, fresh scent, unlike the above mentioned.  I also noticed the same results when trying to remove my eyeliner and mascara.

Sebium H2O

Bioderma Sebium H2O is a purifying, cleansing micelle solution.
It seemed to me that I actually had better results using this cleanser to remove my eyeliner than I did with the makeup removers.  This product seems to use the same fresh scent that is in the moisturising remover.

Stemology Skin Care

Sponsored*

I recently had the opportunity to try these three Stemology products:  the Hydrating cleanser, the gel toner, and the mask.

Let's start with the Cell Reboot Ageless Mask.  The scent is amazing!  It smells like pumpkin pie!  The mask itself was lightweight, which I like.  My skin was left feeling nice, and not too tight or dry after using it.

The Cell Rescue Active Gel Toner also has a nice, non-pumpkin fragrance to it.  I didn't feel any uncomfortable stinging on my skin like I have with some toners, and that's probably because it's alcohol and astringent-free.

The Cell Refresh Hydrating Cleanser is one of the best cleansers I have used.  It does not produce a lot (if any) lather, which I have heard is a good thing, if a product does not.  I have found that others I have used in the past did not make lather, either, but left my skin not feeling clean.  This cleanser leaves my skin feeling fresh, smooth, and makeup free.

Nudu Natural Beauty

Sponsored*

My favorite item in this Nudu Natural Beauty set is the moisturizer.  The scent is mild but very pleasant.  The fall and winter season is the time when I start to need a moisturizer.  During the summer just using my daily sunscreen is more than enough.  My 1 ounce bottle is the perfect size for travel, too!

The packaging of all the items is very beautiful.

The toner has a nice, lemon scent, and the cleanser very little scent at all.   It really leaves my skin feeling clean and make-up free.

The cleanser works just as it says, and leaves my skin feeling smooth and not tight.  I am so used to the stripping effects of soap, I must admit it feels a little odd to me.

Nudu doesn't test on animals, is GMO-free, and has some very innovative, interesting packaging, like airless bottles!  Check out Nudu's website to learn more.

Product Review Roundup 8/14

Sponsored:

This EV Beauty hair straightener worked great, especially considering how humid it was while I was in the process of using the iron.

I've used a lot of different irons, but I must say, the feel of this one in my hand just felt better than any of the others I've tried.  The on and off switch and heat settings are in between in the plates of the iron.  It seemed a little odd to me at first, but I think that's actually a good design because I have used others where the buttons where on the outside and I kept feeling like I was accidently changing the settings while I was using the iron.

The EV Beauty straight iron comes in a beautiful, sleek black box, but includes no other carrying pouch.

This is one of the more unique items I've used.  This air bed requires no air pump to inflate, you just "catch" air in the two sides of the bed.  As someone with a "bad" back, I don't think I'd want to sleep on this thing, but I do still think it's pretty cool.  I think it is better for lounging than actually sleeping, but then again, I know some people like to sleep in hammocks, which I think is similar.  I think this would be much more comfortable than sitting on the hard ground for a camping trip, etc.  It is a little hard to get on and off of, I nearly feel backwards trying to get myself out of it.  My husband tried it out and said he found it pretty comfortable.  I found it very hard to roll the end tight enough to get the bed tight enough to be comfortable for me.

All that being said, this is a pretty ingenious item, and I like that no air pump is required to inflate it.

This item is for the serious food decorator!  If you're not, then I think the hassle of buying the nitrous oxide is too much trouble.

This dispenser itself has a nice and solid feel to it, and it's easy to hold and use.  The box included a few recipes for different types and whipped cream, which was nice.

This organic facial wash has a nice scent.  It does not lather as much as I am used to, but I think that's a pretty good trade-off considering it's also missing a lot of harsh chemicals other brands have.  I believe this pump bottle is glass, because it feels very heavy and solid.  I suppose it can even be re-filled and reused, which is also pretty cool.

These LED bulbs look just as nice as the original. At first my mother and I were skeptical that these LED bulbs would look as beautiful as the regular type of bulbs we are used to, but these look great!  You can't even tell they are anything different.  I have them in my chandelier with the original style, and they blend perfectly.

These gloves are unlike most in that they have a soft lining, this helps in slipping them on an off, so your hand does not tend to get stuck to the silicone.  These gloves really do work just like, or better than old-fashioned cloth mitts.   They fit most hand, and feels comfortable to use.

Iced Tea Pitcher
This pitcher holds 2.3 quarts - more than a half gallon, yet seems to take up less space in our refrigerator than half gallon containers of milk or juice.  It can be laid on its side without spilling its liquid contents.

It has a lid which, besides being waterproof, can be unscrewed, with a filter which can be unscrewed from the bottom of the lid.  You can place loose tea leaves, bags, powder, etc. in the filter, and pour boiling water into the pitcher, to prepare tea.

Although it's plastic, this picture is elegant enough for most occasions

Opul Charcoal Air Freshener
This is a fist-sized, burlap bag by Opul, which is full of charcoal to naturally purify the air around it.  Charcoal is what the U.S. military uses in its chemical and biological protective suits.  It doesn't seem to do anything; it is virtually odorless, but it purifies the air around it, and eliminates odors.  But the pretty, burlap bag can be used to decorate a table or desktop, or may be hidden under a couch, or tucked into a refrigerator like a box of Arm and Hammer baking soda.  Either way, it's doing its job.

Just the box alone that this EV styling tool came in is beautiful.  I think I will be keeping mine to store the curling iron in when I'm not using it. This wand came with a glove to protect your hand while styling, but I chose not to use it because I like to feel with my unclothed hand.   I created these loose, bouncy curls and waves using the EV Beauty curling wand.  I am very happy with the results!  This wand does not come with any heat adjustment, so you just have to trust it.  I think I would still rather have full control, but then again, since my hair came out great, maybe it's not so important.  One thing I really loved about this wand is that it felt light-as-a-feather in my hand!

The design is so smooth and sleek, my hair didn't have place to get snagged and pull like is usually does with most styling irons.

iForaa 8 Led Book Reading Lamp
This lamp is actually two lamps in one.  It is a black, plastic clip, similar to a clothespin, with two flexible, black antennae sticking out of it, and a USB cable dangling from it.  LED lights are at the end of each antenna.

The cable is for recharging it.  It only takes an hour and a half to fully charge it, and a full charge lasts ten hours.  My husband just leaves it plugged in on his desktop, clipped to the flat screen television he uses as a monitor for his laptop computer.

Each antenna has a button on the back of the LED to cycle through bright, brighter and off.  The antenna are very flexible, yet stiff, so you can bend and twist them in any direction, and they stay there.

This lamp is the most lightweight and versatile lamp we have ever owned!
