Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center

For Christmas 2016, Vaughan and I decided to stay at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center.  They have an onsite restaurant, the Tradewinds, though we chose not to eat there during our stay.

The daily rate for our room, with a balcony and view of the bay, was under $60 a night!  The room was a suite, with a separate bedroom area.

 Vaughan and I have found that Virginia Beach is a great place to stay during the off-season.  The prices are amazing, and it is still such a fun and beautiful place to visit.

The best thing about the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel & Conference Center is that all 295 rooms have a bay view because of the unique design of the building.  

One of the worst things was the so-called beach access, which required us to walk a long way around the hotel, towards the street and the front of the building, and on a dark alley of sand beside the hotel in order to reach the beach.

Beach Daycation Must Haves

If you follow my blog at all during summer months, you will know that another obsession of mine is tropical prints.  I buy almost any I see, especially if there's pink involved.  When I saw this one-piece swimsuit by OP on the rack at Wal-Mart, I knew I could not leave without it.  I just love this print, it's so adorable, and I also love the cute little pineapples!

I'll be heading to the beach this week, so this is an idea of what I plan to take along.  My gorgeous new OP swimsuit, and my pink shades.  I am also loving my new set of Kleancolor lipsticks, especially the pinks one, like Flirty Tango.  I think I will be using my new Milani nail polish in "Yellow Whiz", (though I must admit, the name cracks me up).  Everything I need for a day at the beach will fit perfectly in my Victoria's Secret straw bag.

I could not resist posing next the the pink breast cancer awareness fish in Virginia Beach.  She's so pretty!

I'm wearing my most favorite pair of pants, ever. They are a gorgeous floral print by Bongo.  The necklace I am wearing is from Goodwill.  I bought it because it looks so much like Nerds candy, which I love!

Laura Scott Blouse

This was my outfit of our first full day of vacation in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  I wore my blouse by Laura Scott.  It's very soft and comfortable, and doesn't wrinkle, which is so great!  The weather has been a little mild, not super cold yet here at the beach.

I just love this beautiful shell we found for me to pose in front of; the pink is so pretty!
