One thing I have looked forward to every year since I was a little girl celebrating the 4 of July by seeing fireworks. This year was no exception. Vaughan and I went to the Independence Day Celebration at Red Hill Patrick Henry National Memorial in Brookneal, Virginia. Am actor portraying Patrick Henry delivered his famous "Give me liberty, or give me death" speech. It was a great opportunity to learn and experience a little more than you normally would at your typical 4th of July events.
My father worked on a Patrick Henry documentary several years ago, so it was cool to meet "Patrick" and pose for a picture with him! The day had been overcast but as soon as he started to give his famous speech, the sun popped through the clouds, it was rather interesting timing, I would say.
I decided to go for a southern belle outfit for the event. I had picked out some adorable red/white and blue plaid heels but decided against wearing them in the wet grass. I also knew I'd be standing a lot, so I was glad I went with my flip flops that would not be damaged by water.
