Virginia is For Lovers, and Everyone Else

Hello, everyone!  I hope you are all having a great Sunday, and I also hope you can take a moment to vote for my Virginia Is For Lovers commercial to win!  I knew about this contest since around November of last year, but it was hard to get everything to come together.

I did the writing, voice over, music, editing and videography myself.    Yes, I am into producing as well as fashion blogging!  Please take a look and let me know what you think!

I live in a rural area and did not get to travel as much as a wanted to for filming.  July 17th was the submission deadline, and I just made it in time!  I also ended up having to create my own music at the last minute because of copyright issues.  Even though I bought a song to use, I didn't know I would need to provide a release as well, so the day before submissions were due, I was trying to teach myself guitar in order to create a song I could use.  Thanks to my mother, Frances, for the guitar she gave me this year!  I wish I had been practicing on it all this time!

Editing software?  Windows Movie Maker, because it's all I know how to use at the moment
Music?  Guitar strumming I came up with at the last minute

In the end, I am happy to be able to say I own every last piece of this work. 

There is a motto I live by...."better half a** than not at all".  It's not that I don't put it in the effort, it's that sometime all we have in life are half a** tools and opportunities.  Sometimes great things can come from "half a**", just remember that.

Grey Ruched Dress

I ordered this skirt in a size small.  It is way too long for me!  I ended up using it as a dress, instead and it works great!   The color and the ruching are very elegant.  I love that I can dress it up and down, too.  The fabric is stretchy, and feel great and comfortable.  This dress has pockets, too!  If that is something you look for in a dress, you are in luck!  Personally, I would rather my pockets be in fabric that is on the thicker or stiffer side.

Gold Sequin Shift Dress

I ordered this dress in size medium.  The fit is a little loose, but I think it seems to be made that way, which is nice. This dress looks like one that would be a lot more expensive than it is. The quality is great! The length was perfect for me, and I received lots of compliments when I wore the dress. The weight and fabric make this a dress that I could see wearing in any season. There were a few lines or wrinkles in my dress when it arrived but they steamed right out perfectly.

Purple Short Sleeve Dress

This dress is simple, stylish and comfortable.  The fabric is somewhat stretchy,but not as much as I would have thought.   I ordered my dress in a size medium.  It ended up being just a tad small for me.  But not too much that is does not still look good, I think.  The purple color is pretty, and I can wear so many different accessories with it.  When the dress arrived, I thought the way the hem folded over looked a little odd, but once I tried it on I think it looks just fine.

 I ordered this dress in a size medium. The fit is very good. It is a little larger in the top than bottom because of my own size different. The fabric is stretchy, and very comfortable. It's very silky and slinky. This is a great dress for spring. The colors and pattern make it so cute! I love that I can wear this with so many different accessories because of all the colors.

Pink Print Tassel Top

I bought this top in a size small.  The fit is very good, and I love the adjustable shoulder and neckline. It makes it very easy to get just the right fit. I was a little worried that the string shoulder would cut into my shoulders and hurt, but they were so comfortable I did not even notice them. I knotted the string tassel ties in the front at the level I wanted so I would not have to keep retying a bow. I love the tassels! The fabric is so soft and comfy, this is a great top for the summer heat.

Tie Dye Dress

The fabric of this dress is so amazingly soft, I love it! I ordered my dress in a size small. It's still loose on me, but I like that because it's so comfortable I could sleep in it. I chose the orange and blue tie dye print, and it's so fun and pretty! The neckline is perfect for me...not too low or high. This dress does not show wrinkles very much, so I thinks is going to be a great travel piece, too
