Blue Velour Dress

Winter weather with snow is on the way here in southern Virginia.  I am not really looking forward to it, and I hope it does not last very long.  

I don't remember it ever snowing so much as it did last year here in Virginia, so I hope this year is not a repeat.  And luck would have it, I have an appointment Monday, so I can't just stay home!  Here's to hoping the roads will be clean and I will make it there!

 

Striped Jacket

I love how comfortable these pants are.  The color also goes with so many things.  I wore them several times in the summer, but they are also good for the fall season, when it's still on the milder side.

The necklace is also pretty with all the fall colors, and that was just one dollar from a thrift store.

Red Chain Print Skirt

I love the interesting animal print on this maxi skirt.  I also love the chain print, which is very "in" right now.

The necklace is one I have had for a few years now, and I think it is one I bought from Roses.  The black tank is one I bought for just one dollar on sale a few months ago.  

Long Black Leather Jacket

I found this leather jacket/coat from Goodwill fro under ten dollars.  It is one of the softest leather jackets I have ever felt!  The quality feels amazing!

The earrings are pretty dramatic as well, and they were under three dollar from Aliexpress.  They were pierced, but I changed them to clip earrings, and they work very well now.

The slinky knit, plaid dress I am wearing was just one dollar from Goodwill!  It is so stretchy and comfortable, it is one of my favorite dresses to wear now.  I pretty much wear it around the house every day.

 

Book Review: Sparks in Love by Susan Sparks

Sparks in Love : A Survivor's Story is one woman's account of living with domestic abuse.  The book itself is pretty short (under 200 pages), making this a very easy read, as far as time, if not the potential triggers for those that have also lived through, or are still living in an abusive relationship.   I think books like these are great for people, especially young women that may just be starting to date.  There are potential warning signs that we can learn to look out for.  It's not going to guarantee we will not find ourselves in an unhealthy relationship, but education on the matter certainly can't hurt.

If just one person can be saved from going through what the author went through, I'm sure she would be very happy.  Spreading awareness is such an inportant thing for many causes, especially domestic violence!

There are some interesting and disturbing statistics in this book that everyone should be knowlegable of.

The author also runs the web site theSoda-Pop.com.   There are lots of interesting posts there, along with resources for those in an abusive relationship.

Long Grey Sweater

I am wearing one of my pretty new turbans.  I bought this one for $3.99 from Roses.  I attached a very pretty pin on the front of it that I bought from Lowemart for five dollars.

The gray sweater is one I bought on sale for just a few dollars from Ross.  I love how soft it is!

The leggings are also super soft, and came from Walmart.   They kind of match my new turban!

Orange Southwest Print Dress

I bought this dress several years ago from Ross.  It is one of my favorites to wear in fall and during the Halloween season because of the pretty colors.  It is also soft comfortable and warm.

I just recently bought this dark red/clay leather jacket from Goodwill.  Overall, I love these fall colors worn together.
