Types of Hair Used in Making Keratin hair Extensions

Many people, especially women, have been using keratin hair extensions. That is not surprising because hair extensions are suitable for everyone and they can be worn in lots of ways. Women love wearing extensions because these make their hair look fuller and longer.
No matter what styles of hair you are interested in, you can find keratin hair extensions that will help you get those hairstyles. There are many types of hair extensions and there are various types of hair used to make extensions.

Human
Human hair is the best type of hair to use in making keratin hair extensions and hair falls. Many people prefer hair extensions and falls that are made of human hair because these match their own hair well. Also, because they are made of real human hair, they can be dyed, blow dried, and ironed. Extensions made of human hair are attached to natural hair by clips, glue, or thermal fusion. Although you can attach hair extensions to your natural hair by yourself, it is best to ask a professional hairstylist to do it for you.
Remy
Remy hair is real human hair. It is virgin hair which means it has not undergone any chemical processing. The usual way to collect this type of hair is by cutting it straight from the donor. Remi hair comes in five different types. The two most common types are Indian and Chinese. Remi hair is available in various natural colors. Keratin hair extensions made of Remi hair can be blow dried and ironed. However, precautions should be taken to prevent the hair from frizzing and becoming too coarse.

Yaki
Yaki hair is synthetic hair. It is straight and slightly coarse. Although it is synthetic, Yaki hair looks like real human hair. Straight, kinky, silky, and coarse are the four yaki hair types. Women who are African-American are usually the ones who use this type of hair. Keratin hair extensions made of Yaki hair are usually attached to natural hair by braiding or sewing.

Kanekalon and Toyokalon
Like Yaki, both Kanekalon and Toyokalon are synthetic types of hair. Their textures are similar. They are coarse and they are usually used to create braids and dreads. Their base is plastic and they look different from human hair. Kanekalon is oftentimes used to make dread falls, which are quite popular in cybergoth communities. It is compatible with products made for dreads and backcombing it is easy. Toyokalon, on the other hand, is usually used to create braids.
Compared to Kanekalon,Toyokalon tangles easily. Because the base of Toyokalon and Kanekalon is plastic, keratin hair extensions made from these hair types should never be blow dried or ironed.
