In case you wonder what the big plant is that I am posing by...it's a tobacco plant. Tobacco is a big part of Virginia's history. This plant was on the street corner in South Hill, Virginia.
My mother used to work in the tobacco fields on her parent's farm as a child. She has a lot of cool stories to tell about what life was like living and working on farm. Personally, I think this was as close as I had ever been to a tobacco plant. They are pretty huge!
We still see lots and lots of tobacco fields here in southern Virgina.
