For today's post, I am going with a Throw Back Thursday for the theme. These photos were taken at the 4th of July celebration in Meherrin, Virginia.
Meherrin is a tiny town, with a post office, fire department, and a couple of gas stations. Meherrin may be small, but it's home to a spectacular fireworks display that has been put on for many years by the local fire department.
People come from all around the southern Virginia area to see the fireworks 4th of July. This year, the event postponed due to rain, but I was there when the show finally went on, and it was great, just as always!
Meherrin's other claim to fame is that it is the childhood home and birthplace of Roy Clark, the country music singer form the television show "Hee Haw".
