Hello, everyone! I hope you are all having a great Sunday, and I also hope you can take a moment to vote for my Virginia Is For Lovers commercial to win! I knew about this contest since around November of last year, but it was hard to get everything to come together.
I did the writing, voice over, music, editing and videography myself.

I live in a rural area and did not get to travel as much as a wanted to for filming. July 17th was the submission deadline, and I just made it in time! I also ended up having to create my own music at the last minute because of copyright issues. Even though I bought a song to use, I didn't know I would need to provide a release as well, so the day before submissions were due, I was trying to teach myself guitar in order to create a song I could use. Thanks to my mother, Frances, for the guitar she gave me this year! I wish I had been practicing on it all this time!
Camera? A used JVC from Ebay for about $60
Voice? my own
Editing software? Windows Movie Maker, because it's all I know how to use at the moment
Music? Guitar strumming I came up with at the last minute
In the end, I am happy to be able to say I own every last piece of this work.
There is a motto I live by...."better half a** than not at all". It's not that I don't put it in the effort, it's that sometime all we have in life are half a** tools and opportunities. Sometimes great things can come from "half a**", just remember that.
