Santa Monica Pier

These photos we taken during a fun day at the Santa Monica Pier with my mother.  We had a great time and took a lot of cool pictures.  My big, floppy hat was perfect for a sunny day at the beach.  I am always trying my best to avoid getting too much sun, and I wear sunscreen on my face everyday.  I am also wearing a wooden anchor necklace designed and handcrafted by my mother, Frances Green.
I love anchors!  I never really paid much attention to them until last year, but now I am a fan and have several clothing and jewelry items that incorporate anchors.  You can find my mother's anchor necklace, and several others that are nautical themed here.

This was on the wall of a building a few blocks from the pier.  I thought all the white roses were beautiful!

These things always freak me out!

Sapone Vegetale soap

I found these Sapone Vegetale soaps at Ross.  My husband loves all kinds of different soaps, so we have a rather large collection now.  These both have great scents.

Sweet Frog

I bought this denim vest for a grunge-look photo shoot, and here I have recycled it for a new, updated look.
I like the tribal print of this Forever 21 skirt.  The studded belt ties in well with the top and skirt, and I am wearing my Naturalizer sandals.

Below are also a couple of photos that were taken at the grand opening of a new Sweet Frog yogurt shop.  I love my frozen yogurt!

Burgundy Sparkle

I wore this outfit for a shopping trip to the mall, and took these photos outside near a pretty fountain.  My Naturalizer sandals kept me comfortable walking around the mall, and went well with the neutral tones of my clothing.

Hula Girl in Malibu

These photos were taken after a hula performance at Paradise Cove in Malibu.  In the first photo I am wearing my hula costume cover-up.  It is tradition to wear a cover-up as a belly dance when you are not performing, and I also like that idea for hula.  Especially when there are not available changing rooms, it just makes more sense to come ready to go.  Then all I have to do if take of the cover and I am ready to perform.

Navy

I went with an anchor necklace and gold chain bracelet along with navy, white and red colors to achieve a nautical inspired outfit. I am a huge fan of anchors this year, and you can't go wrong with a timeless piece like a gold chain bracelet or necklace.

Hawaiian Shirt

My husband insisted these print did not go together, but I think they work great!  I love mixing the unexpected. I think this particular blouse and skirt have a retro feel to them.  Especially in the photo where I am wearing the glasses, I feel like it has almost a 1940's look to it.  This blouse is one of three I purchased new at a bargain store for just $1.00 each!  It's not often you see Hawaiian shirts for women, especially ones that are small and in my size.  I usually don't even like Hawaiian shirts, and I think the fit is one reason why.  They are usually large and shapeless.  This one fits me perfectly and I don't feel sloppy in it.

What is your opinion?  Cool mixing of prints, or a little too much?

Field of Flowers

This peach skirt by Basic House goes perfectly with my blouse.  I love the floral print, and the fabric is very breezy and comfortable.
