Floral Fun

Why am I dressed like spring when it's winter?  I live in southern Cali!  It doesn't make sense to wear only winter colors and fabrics when the weather gets so warm some days.

Halo

I wore this outfit to a dance audition, and throughout the day I received 5 compliments on the leggings!  They are one of my favorite southwestern prints I have bought this year.  I am mixing some crazy prints here, but it must have worked, because I booked the job!  The coral necklace goes well with the colors in the blouse and leggings.  It was a purchase from Ebay.  I have been wanting some coral pieces for a long time but have no luck finding anything in stores, so I took my search to Ebay with great results.  I found several beautiful necklaces at crazy-low prices.  Ebay is a great place to look for something you have had no luck finding in stores. Later this same day, I went to the Santa Monica pier and took some photos.  You can see the beautiful lights of the Ferris wheel behind me.

MetroStyle

This is a favorite of mine and my husband.  He purchased this lime green coat by MetroStyle several years ago while we were living in Brownsville, Texas.  It is very warm and a color that can't be missed!

Kato Kaelin Live

This past Monday my husband and I had the pleasure of being a guest on Kato Kaelin's show, Kato Live.  I performed and gave a little instruction on belly dancing, and we stayed the entire hour and had a great time! Kato is a great host and comedian, and we felt right at home on set.

Cars & Fashion

This look is all about the southwest theme (which is my favorite trend this year).  The blouse is by Lux, the skirt is by Mind Code, and the leather cowboy boots are Red Lodge by Corral West

After taking my OOTD photo, a man from of of the businesses in the shopping mall came out and said I was welcome to pose with his Mercedes race car.

Cute and Fuzzy

I have wanted one of these cute hats for a long time, and I finally bought one this past year.  It is furry, cute, and fun, and I can't take myself too seriously when wearing it.  I is actually very warm, too, which is the best part!  Today, I wore a soft, over-sized sweater by White Stag that was a gift from my sister.  I like pairing red with black and white, especially polka dots.  These leggings by Wet Seal, and the red leather booties are by Cougar.

Burgundy

This may have been the first time I ever wore a tie, and I must say, I like it!  Here, I am mixing prints using the Robert Talbott tie but it works, and it helps that everything is in the same tones.  The burgundy shirt is by Chandler Hill, I have had it for years, and I bought it specifically for a television role I had been cast for.
The brown leather skirt is by Isabel, the plaid jacket is by Charlotte Russe, and the suede heels are by Merona.

A Pop of Color

Just a pop a of color is all this outfit needed.  The winter-white jacket is Express, which I paired with black Bisou Bisou leggings.  The patent leather shoes are Bates, and the black leather gloves are vintage Aris.  The printed scarf is a dollar store find.

Browns

I love the beautiful tones/colors in this outfit.  I paid a jacket by The Rag Company with my Cache knickers, I love the button detailing on them!  The brown leather, embossed boots are Donald J. Pliner.  I am not nearly into shoes as much as I am clothes, but I really think these boots are beautiful and they are one of my favorite pairs.

Christmas Costume

My family and I decided to take some Christmas photos over the weekend.  I wore a vintage feather wrap over my Fernando Pena gown.  The top hat is one I purchased years ago from a costume shop, and added a red ribbon to.

Rampage

I love how this coat by Rampage looks like a beautiful tapestry or rug, and it is very warm, prefect for the cold weather we have been having in Southern California lately.

Lots of Prints

I love how fun and crazy this outfit is!  I received compliments when I wore it to go shopping, so other people must have liked it, too.  This makes me want to try mixing prints more often.  The velour print top was a gift from my parents last year, and is by California Concepts.  The skirt is a piece I have had for many years, and is by Baani's.  The tights are by Merona, and go very well with the burgundy in the skirt.  The green fedora is by Forever 21.  The wide leather belt is by Express, and the shoes are by Dress Barn.

Christmas Colors

The colors in this outfit remind me of Christmas.  The knit top is by Say What?  The jacket is La Belle, shoes by Gianni Bini, and the skirt was a find from Factor 2 U.

Country Girl

For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I had lunch and did some shopping at Charlie Brown Farms, in Littlerock, California.  I had heard about the place and it seemed like a fun place to visit.  It is also the largest gift shop in the Antelope Valley.  One thing I was really looking forward to was the fudge, and it was delicious!  They have a ton of things to look at...every soda and sweet treat you could dream of, and all kinds of gifts.  We did not even look at everything there, so we plan on making another trip in the future to check out the rest of what they have to offer.  The outside of the building is cute and country, so I decided to wear something fun and take a few photos.  Here, I am wearing a cowboy hat a bought a few years ago at Walmart.  The denim shirt is Ralph Lauren, the red suede vest is by Don't Stop Classics. The Rob Roy plaid skirt is by Love Culture.

Out With The Old...

I am always shopping and buying new things, so every once in a while I need to get rid of the old to bring in the new.  This day, I went to a local flea market.  Now I have room for my recent finds!

Southwestern Lady

I love this look, it feels so lady-like! The hat is by Forever 21.  The dress is a southwestern print (which I am totally into right now) by Hyponotik, and I found it a one of my favorite stores, Ross.  The heels are Issac Mizrahi for Target.

Thanksgiving Day

The print of this American Rag top reminds me of fall leaves, so I thought it would be a great part of my Thanksgiving Day outfit.  I paired it with a beautiful skirt by Barami, which reminds me of a doily.  The shoes look like the ones worn by pilgrims, and were made by Calico.

Over-sized

The weaher has taken a chilly turn in Southern California, so out comes my winter wear.

This over-sized sweater/jacket is a Goodwill find that my husband picked out for me because of his love for plaid.  It was made by I.B. Diffusion, a company that unfortunately went out of business in the early 1990's.
I am usually a girl that is all about the close fit, but sometimes it is nice to wear something on the baggy side.  To pull it off, it is all about pairing it will fitted pieces, like the black velour leggings by Connection 18.  I wore these a lot last winter, and I know they are going to be a go-to this time around as well.  The black leather boots by Samase were a gift from my mother.  They are flat heeled so they are super comfortable and great to wear over leggings.  The red sweater is by Pretty Good, and the hat does not have a tag but was a Disabled Veteran's thrift store find for just 99 cents.

Dr. Shine Hair Polisher

This tiny bottle of Dr. Shine hair polisher is perfect for carrying in a purse or makeup bag.  It is only 0.5 ounces, but for oil, that goes a long way.  The scent is very sweet, like candy, which is fine for me.

I first started using oil on my hair a year or so ago, and I do not use it often because it does tend to make my hair feel dirty a lot faster.

Pure-Aid Kids Sunscreen Lotion

I was not able to find out much about this sunscreen online.  I purchased it for $1.00 and a discount store.  It states it is UVA/UVB protection Broad Spectrum, and hypo-allergenic.  It was very light and non-greasy, which I love.  It also has a nice scent.

40's Fashion

Once again, I am loving my fedoras from Forever 21!  When I pair them with a knee-length skirt or dress, and jacket, I feel like it gives my outfits a 1940's feel.  I am really liking this look, and it feels very ladylike.
For this look, I paired the Forever 21 fedora with a wool plaid jacket made in Italy by Les Copains.
The bag is by Michael Rome by Besozzi, and blends well with the red in the jacket and shoes, which are by Merona.  The beige dress by YSB makes the perfect canvas for it all.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess mascara

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara claims to have a millionizer brush that is "bigger than ever".   I found this chunky container a little odd to hold, but I am getting used to it.  It also takes up more space in my purse or makeup bag.

I can't say my eyelashes look that much different than with other mascaras, but I do think it applies with less clumping.

Suave Max Hold hair spray

I really love the hold of this Suave Max Hold hair spray.  I also like that is is non-aerosol, which to me seems like it would be better for your health.  One think I find odd is that is claims to be unscented, but it has fragrance.  I like it, but for some sensitive people, I suppose that could be an issue.

I am not a huge hair spray person, but this is one of the better of the few I have tried.

Mad for Plaid

It's not everyday you see a plaid motorcycle jacket, so I was very happy to find this one by Heritage 1981 (which was renamed 21Men and is a brand by Forever 21).  It seems like I have a ton of clothing items by Forever 21, they are one of my favorite brands.  The jacket is the central piece to what I think it a perfect fall outfit.

The fedora I am wearing is also by Forever 21, and I have one in green and camel, too.  I am really loving these fedoras this fall!

The silver coin necklace is a piece I made myself from  "doubloons" I purchased from a gift shop on South Padre Island in Texas.

The gray dress is by Derek Heart, and the boots are by Branchini

Vaseline total moisture cocoa glow lotion

Vaseline total moisture cocoa glow lotion moisturizes well, but the cocoa butter scent is not what I am used to.  I have long been a fan of Vaseline.  When my hands used to get really dry and painful it was one of the few lotions that really seemed to work and help with healing.

The bottle is cute and easily fits in a purse or makeup bag at only 100 milliliters.
